In the middle of last year my mother had a catastrophic stroke and the doctors told us that at her advanced age (93) the best we could do for her was to take her home and do what we could to keep her comfortable. In grief, the family started preparations for the inevitable.
We called the Westcott Funeral Home and spoke with Mrs. Westcott. She completely understood what our family was dealing with. We discussed mom’s condition and began planning. Mrs. Wescott went above and beyond to answer any questions that we had and made sure the process was as easy as possible for the family given the circumstances. Having these discussions with Mrs. Wescott was like talking to a big sister or an old family friend. She completely understood what we were feeling while never loosing site of the things we needed to prepare for. She was there with us every step of the way, helping us plan to move her from Maryland back home to Philadelphia and her final resting place.
Once our mother passed, The Wescott family assisted our family with all of the funeral arrangements including arranging for a minister to provide a service. They guided us through the steps of gathering what we needed for the program and provided support in ways which we did not even think of. Oh, did I mention the program? It has been 6 months since my mother’s funeral and I keep the program on my desk. It was so well done. The Wescott family did an outstanding job with her viewing and funereal announcements.
