Vera Hardy was born on September 10th 1918 to the late John Sanders and Maylon Hobbs Sanders. On Wednesday September16th, God in his infinite wisdom, dispatched an angel to the bedside of our beloved Vera and took her to a place where there would be no more pain or suffering. LORD, we thank you. She received her formal education in Faison, North Carolina. After high school Vera met and married Isaac Hardy in Norfolk, VA. Vera joined National Temple Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor's Aid Broad and the Usher Broad. Later she joined Germantown Evangelistic Church. Vera was very active in the church. Vera worked for Sea Gull Lighting Company up in till her retirement in 1981. Vera was a devoted mother and enjoyed her grandchildren with a special love that only a grandma could give. Those left to cherish her memories are: one son: Isaac Hardy Jr. Three daughters: Barbara Borom, Evangelist Judy Shands Jackson, Regina Martin Melendez. Two special Son-in-Laws: Rev. Dr. Emilio Melendez and Jeffrey Jackson. Grandchildren: Lynette Borom Phillips (Tundi) Pastor Henry D. Borm (Satski), Jamir A. Martin, Douglas Shands (Casey) and David Shands. Great Grandchildren: Taiyana Martin, Nailah Martin, Henry Trevor Borom, Henry Tiger Borom, Shani Phillips, Shani Borom, Nadia I. Shands and Arianna Shands. Great Great Grandchildren: Ife Phillips and Lorial Denise Broom. Two sisters WillieMae Morrison, and Mazie Thompson, Two brothers James Hobbs Sanders and John Sanders. She was preceded in death by one sister Madie B. Thompson and two brothers Arthur Sanders and Willie Sanders. She also leaves a host of family and friends.
