Roland Rivers Obituary

Roland Dix Rivers was born on July 28, 1935 to the late Paul C. Rivers and Gladys Glenn in Philadelphia. Roland received his formal education in the Philadelphia School System and soon after enlisted into the United States Armed Forces from 1955 -1963 with an Honorable Discharge. Roland accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church until his health failed him. Roland held various jobs throughout his life and excelled in carpentry and plumbing which he enjoyed. In addition, he loved cars, jewelry, and ceramics. Roland was a superb "Mr. Fix it". He would fix anything with duct tape or gorilla glue. Roland met the love of his life and soul mate at his last place of employment with Einstein/Willowcrest. Roland worshiped the ground on which his wife walked and their love was unconditional. Even Stevie Wonder could see their Love for one another. Roland had a huge heart where he would do anything for anyone with no questions asked. To know Roland was to love him. Roland was preceded in death by his son Anthony, one sister Jeanette, and three brothers-in-law. Roland leaves to cherish many good memories; his wife Earlean Rivers; children Yvette, Joseph, Paul; inherited children Jamiel and Deitra; siblings Pauline, Glenn, and James; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; six grandchildren; three inherited grandchildren Yasir, Jai'mir, and Jordyn; two great-grandchildren; and a very special friend Aziz Badmus.
