Minnie Lee Lancaster

Minnie Lee Bell Born on April 5, 1943 to the late Addie Brooks and Dodson Bell.

Minnie was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system and attended William Penn High School, where she was known to be a very feisty young woman. After her education, she became a nursing assistant at Philadelphia General Hospital (PGH) for six years. Minnie then began working for the family business known as "Mom's Bakery" in the Mt Airy section of Philadelphia. For over twenty years Minnie enjoyed being around people, talking with the customers and selling the best "hot rolls" in Philadelphia. She was also the best family babysitter ever!!!. Her grandchildren adored her and most of all they loved her feistiness.

As a young adult, Minnie met and married Roland Joseph Beauford, becoming Mrs. Minnie Lee Beauford. They spent many years together moving about the City and raising a family. After the passing of her husband, Minnie met and married Stanley Lancaster becoming Mrs. Minnie Lee Lancaster and they lovingly lived as husband and wife until his death. Throughout Minnie's life she had trials and tribulations but she always overcame them through her strong faith. She once told her family in the midst of her illness, "You are going to see God's glory!" Minnie lived three additional victorious years after this bold confession. She was a woman of uncompromising faith!!

As a widow, Minnie set her heart to spend her remaining days with her children, who filled her life with so much joy. Rudolph Bell (who preceded her in death) and who spent many days with his mother at the Casino. Bernadette Camp who cherished all the intimate time she spent with her mother talking over coffee. Roland Beauford who adored and provided for his mother. Augustus Beauford who became her partner in crime. Minnie's family increased through marriage and she welcomed one son in law, James Camp and two daughters in laws, Monique Beauford and Takia Howard (who personally attended to Minnie at the end and was such a blessing).

Minnie spent much quality time with each grandchild, making each one feel special in their own way. She has eight granddaughters and five grandsons, seven great - granddaughters and two great-grandsons and a host of cousins, and friends who will all miss her dearly. Minnie also leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her life, her sister Mary Wilson who was instrumental in her early years. Her brothers, Rudolph Bell and Dodson Bell, were waiting to receive their sister at the Gates of Heaven when she triumphantly arrived.
"Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory!" was Minnie's favorite saying.
