Maynita Brenda Vaughn

Maynita B Vaughn D.D. was born to the late Milton Vaughn, Jr. and Mildred Wright-Vaughn on February 15, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the oldest of four children. Dr. Vaughn received her education from the Philadelphia School District. Where she also worked and retired from after years of employment. On December 30, 2017 the LORD saw fir to call her home.

Dr. Vaughn received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of fourteen, leading her mother and father to the LORD the same year. While attending the Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor R.A. Bady. While attending Ebenezer, Dr. Vaughn not only focused on her personal walk with Christ but invested time teaching others in Vocational Bible School during the summers. Since then Dr. Vaughn fellowshipped at other ministries until 2003 where she established fellowship at New Birth Deliverance Church under the leadership of Pastor, Dr. Odell Brown and the late Dr. Tetrizine Brown. Bringing to the ministry her gift of help; creativity, compassion, and wisdom. She was a great prayer worrior, supporter, and counselor with a mothering spirit. Under this leadership Dr. Vaughn was encouraged by the Pastors to take classes at Jameson Ministry School. On June 17, 2016 Dr. Vaughn received an Honorary Doctrine Degree in Ministry.

Dr. Vaughn will be sadly missed by all who came to know her; but to know that she is resting in the presence of the LORD brings great peace and comfort to the heart and mind of those who loved her.

Preceded her in death, her brother Bruce Vaughn, her son Anthony Vaughn, and one granddaughter Aja Pittiford and one great granddaughter Amira Jones.

Dr. Vaughn leaves to cherish precious memories; three children Kelvin Vaughn, Jacqueline Rivers ( son-in-law Terry Rivers, Sr.), Edward Pettiford (daughter-in-law Carol Tucker-Pettiford); Nine grandchildren: Kelvin J. Vaughn, Jr., Kristian Vaughn, Kyleah Vaughn, Kelvin E. Vaughn, Kimaya Vaughn, Mikaya Vaughn, Terry Rivers, Jr. Ebony Rivers, Wayne' Gavin and Evie Pettiford; five great grandchildren; Jakayah Vaughn, Ian Vaughn, Zen Gavin, Sydney Jones, and Michael Jones, Jr. Dr. Vaughn also leaves to cherish her memory 2 brothers Wayne and Reginald Vaughn, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and also extended family members.
