Leonard Weeks

Leonard Weeks was born on January 15, 1953 in Philadelphia, Pa. His mother Edith Lumpkin Weeks and father Charles preceded Leonard. Leonard had four brothers Richard Weeks, Charles Weeks, Herman Weeks, and Gilbert Weeks all of whom went on to glory to welcome Leonard there.

Leonard was educated in the Philadelphia School System where he attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Fergueson and Edison High School. Leonard would later join the Board of Education where he became employed for the School District of Philadelphia where he was employed as a NTA (Non Teaching Assistant) for many years.

Leonard was a talented artist a skill that he displayed early on as he drew his own comic heroes demonstrating his both active imagination and artist ability. Leonard was also an avid swimmer and would soon be called "Tarzan" by many of his admirers.

Leonard was light years ahead of his time when he created an alter ego "Namour" who he historically depicted in his very colorful graphic novels. He was also a prolific drummer, coming from a very musical family where he had many opportunities to show off his skills.

Leonard leaves behind to mourn him a sister, Sarah Martinez, daughter Tamara Weeks, 8 grandchildren Nadaira Green, Nizja Faison, Tyzja Faison, Nigeria Weeks, Erika Weeks, Jaylynn Weeks, Isaiah Weeks, Tieger Weeks. 1 great grand daughter Z'aria Weeks. 1 uncle Stephen G. Lumpkin and a host of cousins and extended family.

Leonard shared a birthday with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and departed this earth on the same day as President John F. Kennedy. They both were in very good company as we now say goodbye to our loved one, our family member and friend Leonard Weeks.
