Joseph Bailey Obituary

Joseph Bailey, the only son of the late Frank and Louise Etta Stevenson Bailey, was born on April 9, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He departed this life on Sunday morning, June 14, 2015 (Flag Day). Ironically, he was in the Army. Joe (as everyone called him) was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. He was baptized and became a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church for many years. He then enlisted in the Army. He served from 1979-1999. Joseph retired from the Army, which he did two tours in Iran. 20 years in all. He worked fir H.O. Cleaning service in Center City. Then he became sick after a battery of test, Joe was diagnosed with a debilitating illness. From then on our brother started getting worst. We had to put him in a nursing home. There, he had round the clock care, until Our Lord Called Him Home on June 14, 2015. He will join our father, mother, 2 sisters, and a host of relatives and army buddies. Joe leaves to cherish his memory four sisters Clarietta Adams, Kathryn Silas, Constance Roberts, and Hazel Perkins. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives, and friends. Especially his army buddies. "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God; there for the world know thus not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but know that when He shall appear we shall be like Him, for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:1-3)
