George A. Pugh was born November 4, 1931, in Craven County in Grifton, N.C., to William Pugh and Ollie Green Pugh. He attended school in the Craven County School System. He attended Piney Grove Baptist Church and was baptized there. George drove the school bus and he loved it. George went into the United States Army. Stayed there two years and left with an honorable discharge. After the Army he met and married, the beautiful Yvonne Jones Williams. To this union two children was bornTeresa and George Alfonda. George attended church after moving to New York City. He served as a deacon there. George and Yvonne were married for a long time, then they went there separate ways. George met and married the beautiful Caral. To the union one son was born George Keith Pugh. George worked for general motors for thirty years. He retired from General Motors. After retirement George was the owner of a tire shop. George was a people person, he loved to talk and laugh with them. George leaves to cherish his memories Wife Yvonne; daughter Teresa, son George Alfonda, Carol and George Keith. One sister Reather Canno of Ayden, N.C. whom he loved dearly, four grandchildren Kizzy, Brian, Nika, and Geanda. Nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
