Elvira A. Loney was born April 7, 1923 she was the only child of the late Edward Guy Arnold and Alfreda Arnold in Philadelphia, Pa. Elvira was affectionately known as Lapetite by family, friends, and neighbors. Elvira was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1941. She met and married Edward Loney whom preceded her in death on April 14, 1946 and from this union one daughter was born Alfreda. Elvira's first job was at the Quartermaster's Defense Supply Depot from the 1940's to the 1060's. Then in 1966 she began working for progressive manufacturing until her retirement in 1985. Elvira was a lifelong member of Haven Peniel United Methodist Church, serving on many ministries: The Choir Mother's Guild, Girl Scout Leader, Adult Fellowship, Administrative Board, Class Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and an Usher for over 60 years, her final ministry duty was working in the Caf
