Darryl "Piggy" Wescott

Darryl "Piggy" Wescott, Sr. was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on August 14, 1961 to Edward Hatten Sr. and the late Alma Wescott. He dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. Darryl was educated in the Camden School System, and graduated from Camden High School. In high school, fe focused his energy and talents in basketball but later discovered a love and appreciation for fine arts. From fine arts his love of music was birthed. Darryl's love for music led him to teach himself how to sing, play guitar, and to compose his own music. He also enjoyed dancing and listening to reggae music. Darryl was known to be an outstanding artist and an expert at cooking various cultural foods. He also was known foe being a dynamic construction worker and carpenter. On January 29th, 1988 Darryl took a wife, Shermina Cheatham, and bore him two children Damon and Shardae. One of Darryl's favorite hobbies he also enjoyed doing was taking his children to see trains go from place to place and to walk during his spare time. Darryl was a huge fan of numerous martial arts, kung fu, and karate movies. Darryl was known to have a good sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with all his children as well as family and friends. He had a heart of generosity for those that were in need of help. On Sunday July 12th, 2015 God, in his infinite wisdom, called Darryl home to give him rest from several long term health ailments. He is preceded in death by his mother Alma Wescott and his brother Edward Hatten, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory a special friend Lorraine Gay, his father Edward Hatten Sr., two half sisters Juanita and Althea, two sons Darryl and Damon, one daughter Shardae; the mother of his two youngest children, Shermina Wescott, two daughters-in-law Kenyadah and Sandra; two grandchildren Nevaeh and Katlen, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and friends..
