Aurelia Eaddy

Aurelia Eaddy was born on January 12, 1925 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Charlie and Hattie Beatty. She grew up with her sister Ida and her brothers Charlie Jr., Willie, Leroy, and Robert. She was also blessed with an adopted sister, Barbara Ann.
Aurelia graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Spartanburg on May 28, 1943, and soon after moved to Philadelphia.
In 1945 she met Enoch Eaddy. They fell in love and were married on November 1, 1951, and to this union 5 children were born.
Aurelia attended the Beaumont School of Nursing in Philadelphia where she graduated with a degree in Practical Nursing. Although she had numerous jobs over the years, she was most fond of her time working for the Sisters of Mercy.
Mother Eaddy was a devout Christian and faithful member of the Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ, where she joined in 1953 under the leadership of Dr. and Mother Dabney. While at The Garden she served faithfully on the Senior Choir, the Mothers of Zion, and was ordained as a Deaconess.
Mother Eaddy departed this life peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016, knowing that she was well loved and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Enoch Eaddy and her oldest daughter Valerie Eaddy Riley.
Mother Eaddy leaves to cherish many happy memories, her two sisters, Ida and Barbara Ann; her children Karen Warfield (Joseph), Reuben Eaddy (Alice), Cheryl Williams, and Monique Eaddy; 6 grandchildren Danya, Joshua, Deanna, Sabrina, Caylon and Michael; 4 great grandchildren Jada, Tasir, Kianna and Roni, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
