Alice H. Evans was born on March 23, 1933 in Norfolk County, VA to the late Edward and Thelma Harper. She was educated in the Norfolk County School System. She married Johnnie Williams and that union produced three children. She later married Lewis Evans who preceded her in death. Alice accepted the Lord into her life at a very young age. She always had a church family. Her first church in Philadelphia was New Welcome Baptist Church where she would "sing the roof off the building". In later years, she was a dedicated member of Gather the People House of Prayer where she attended regularly until she became ill. She worked as a seamstress until she retired. Sewing was not just a job it was her passion. Her other passion was singing on the church choir. She was an avid baseball fan, and loved watching "Westerns" on TV her favorite was the "Virginian". Alice leaves to cherish her memory her son Johnnie Williams, Jr. (PA), daughters: Eldenor J. Cooper (VA) and Sharen Williams (PA), stepson John T. Davis (CA), five grandchildren: Ronald (Artesia) Corbin (VA), Felicia (Jerome) Stinney (PA), David (Kemoye) Williams (PA), Rhonda Corbin (VA), Dominique Alexander (PA), 14 great-grandchildren, one brother Leslie Seward (VA), two sisters Kathie H. Nixon (PA) and Carolyn H. Johnson (PA), one sister-in-law, three brothers-in-law, an adopted sister Mable Williams (PA), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
